Most families facing a move into senior living, or an estate to settle, end up hiring a mover, an estate sale company, a cleanout crew, a cleaner, and a realtor. Five relationships, five sets of expectations, all during one of the hardest stretches of their lives.

Home Hands exists to be the one relationship instead. We're two brothers from Fairport. Our own team runs the senior downsizing and moves — into a community, between communities, or to a higher level of care — and on some projects the cleanout and cleaning as well. Connor is a licensed real estate salesperson, so the home sale stays in-house. Anything we don't handle ourselves, we coordinate through local vendors we've worked with directly — sent out for competing quotes, billed at what the vendor charges, with no markup from us.

One phone call, one plan, and the same small team — led by us — from the first walkthrough through closing. Take the whole thing or one piece of it; families use us for as much or as little as they need.

Connor Boyd

Co-Founder | Director of Estate & Senior Transitions

A lifelong Fairport resident, Connor spent two years coordinating estates and senior transitions with an established local company before founding Home Hands with his brother Nick. That work shaped how he runs things now. He watched families try to hold together a half-dozen moving parts on their own, and he built Home Hands to replace that with one relationship.

Connor personally directs every client transition from the initial phone call through the closing table. He designs the plan, schedules the vendors, and stays with it until the last box is unpacked or the house is sold. He is also a licensed real estate salesperson and has managed more than 30 estate and senior transition listings, representing roughly $8 million in local volume.

Nick Boyd

Co-Founder | Director of Operations

Also a lifelong Fairport resident, Nick runs the operational side of Home Hands. He manages the scheduling, the move team, and the back-end systems that keep each transition on time and on budget. He also handles the company's books and brings on and trains every new team member.

On active projects, Nick oversees quality control across every job site, so clients are never left managing our team or our vendors themselves. Running the company with his brother keeps the standard personal — the work carries their family name, and Nick treats every job that way.

Emma Nichols

Senior Move Manager

Born and raised in Irondequoit, Emma earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Nazareth College. As a Senior Move Manager with Home Hands of Rochester, she helps older adults approach downsizing one manageable step at a time. She takes the time to understand what matters to each client, which decisions feel difficult, and how they want their new home to look and feel.

Emma works alongside clients through space planning, room-by-room sorting, organizing belongings into labeled boxes, and settling into the new residence. Her approach is patient and collaborative: clients set the pace and make the decisions, while she helps bring their wishes together into a practical plan. From the first sorting session to the finishing touches in the new home, her focus is on helping each person feel heard, supported, and at home.

Michele Boyd

Senior Move Manager

Born and raised in Macedon, Michele brings 39 years of experience as a flight attendant to her role as Senior Move Manager. She graduated magna cum laude from St. John Fisher College with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. At Home Hands of Rochester, she combines a service-minded approach with careful attention to the personal details of downsizing and settling into a new home.

Michele is especially attentive to belongings with sentimental meaning and the familiar comforts clients want to bring with them. She helps organize those belongings with care and arranges the new residence around each client’s preferences—from favorite photographs to familiar linens and everyday essentials. Working alongside her family gives this work particular meaning, and she takes pride in helping older adults feel comfortable and supported through one of life’s biggest transitions.

Steve Boyd

Operations Manager

Born in Buffalo and raised partly in Los Angeles, Steve moved to Macedon at 13 and graduated from Pal-Mac. He and Michele raised Connor and Nick in Fairport. After 36 years with Frito-Lay, Steve retired to work alongside his sons at Home Hands of Rochester. His career in route sales included an accident-free driving record and years of training new hires — experience he now brings to the preparation and logistics behind each client's move.

As Operations Manager, Steve helps ensure supplies arrive where they are needed, job sites are prepared, and the movers understand the plan. He works closely with Nick and the field team to keep the practical details organized. He values the chance to work with his family while helping older adults feel supported through a significant life change.
